I get it, the 99% rising up against the 1%. But it's more like the .005% occupying on behalf of the so-called 99% against the 1%. Yea, I know the problem, the wealthy are wealthy. But the fact is the bulk of the 99% would like to be wealthy too. Sure, we all say we'll live within our means, but once we get a taste for the alimghty dollar we're stuck on wanting more and more.

Let's be serious. OWS won't catch steam, it has no demands, no vision, no use. Well that's not true. THe best we can hope for is that it catalyzes all the middle and lower class bums who never vote or bother to learn how to upset the process in a real fashion that actually initiates change. Vote with your feet, vote, and vote with your dollars.

Of course that won't happen. Low income people don't care about politics , they only care about getting their junk from Walmart.

But things are changing, slowly. More unemployment and people on the streets will eventually tip. Not there yet, not by a long shot given the comfortable and apathetic nature of our country, but it'll tip.

I'll say it. We don't need to have half our tax dollars go to weaponry. We'd have to spend less if we weren't trying to take over the world.

I get the fact Iraq wasn't just about oil, it was about all the billions in loans to rebuild the country.

But do we really need to fatten the pockets of a dozen big hidden corporations? No.

Time to pull out and reduce. Spending on military is incredible. The problem we're in now, we've pissed off so many people and have asuch a debt problem that we're stuck. Like an addict we can't stop but expand the military and invade countries for their resources.

A bitter cycle that shows no chance of slowing down. After all, our desire for stuff--consumption--is outweighed by our willingness to have less.

Wake up on Healthcare

Some obvious facts

a) America spends more on guns and wars abroad than consumption for a growing lower class
b) the demographics in America are shifting so that the largest segment of baby boomers are starting to retire and with old age comes skyrocketing healthcare needs.
c) America has among the worst healthcare service for their own citizens in the developed world.

Sure if you do'nt get sick for long or if your'e a multi millionaire you're fine. The average joe is screwed.

That Washington Times articles continues to the stupidity behind Republican fear tactics around healthcare. So far the two primary arguments are a) it will cost more, b) it will take away your right to chose a doctor.

Uh, I'd like to have a doctor over no doctor any day idiots.

And yes, YES it will cost most in the short term and TENS of millions get healthcare coverage they never would under any other circumstances.

So read the entire article, note that the plan doesn't sound so bad, and also do your part to educate your foolish friends that unless we change our ways soon we'll be further down the dumpster, and really sick as well.

In the recent budget fiasco Obama taunted Republicans asking whether they thought whether, "you hink we're stupid?"

House Republican leaders struggled to sell their spending agreement. The President is of course challenging leaders while simultaneously eeking out support.

And whaddaya know: Rove has been singing like a canary and fingering Cheney. Steve Clemons has confirmed it.

Does Rove's cooperation mean that Fitzgerald may broaden the investigation and later charge Cheney? Rice? Bush? Will the recently retrieved 250 or so emails offer Libby, and maybe Rove later, a defense against obstruction, lying and perjury charges on the basis that they were just following orders? Hmmm, I wonder in what other ways Rove and Libby, Hadley, et al, might be cooperating with Fitzgerald?

I'm bit worried nothing's changed. Obama could implement some real change. He doesn't have to do much, but lets' try not to make this all about oil again....

Why give a damn about Libya, after all, they don't have THAT much oil.

Do'nt get started that it's about protecting US or even LIbyan interests.

When talk about establishing a no-fly zone started coming out this week I shook my head.

We know better.

We don't need to blow more money on war.

We don't need to hit another Mid-east nation (check that, African in this case, but intimately tied).

In fact, we can let what's unfolding continue to unfold cause honestly it's beyond out control. We need to get back to the drawing board at home. Would be nice to use all these millions / ibllions used for unnecessary wras to fund our own development at home.

But I guess the crisis of stupid Americans who listen to the god Glenn Beck in their trailer parks is good enough.

Not for me.

Comparatively this Japanese quake was, wait for it, 8000TIMES more powerful than Christ Church, new zealand.

Funny how the conservative media didn't pick up this story in a hurry. Only fifty thousand people hit the streets. That's not loose change in case you were wondering.

And enough with the communism talk. If you're an illiterate uneducated fool (many in our broken America) then I guess you believea nything stupid tea partiers say, but it's not inherently bad to be in a union.

Kidding aside, interesting to see Madison, WI., get busy mobilizing. TOo bad the Democrats didn't stick around for a conversation. Seems as though that ploy didn't work.

I'm going to keep tabs on these developments quite closely....

Maybe America isn't broke after all. I buy this, there's something fishy going on in a world where the citizen is losing rights and their money (homes).

Way out east.

The Mid-East and North African countries are undergoing a revolution that will change the face of politics in the region forever. Not only politics, but just the very nature of the world.... no small cheese.

But do you think that it'll be business as usually once the dust settles? Or is this a part of a bigger wave that's going to eventually make it's way to American soil?

I 'm not a bettor but I would gander that if more traction captures with these movements you'll see a lot more people will notice that a tiny percentage of people are gettinga ll the wealth, and when a class of youth have nothing to lose, well you have a recipe for disaster and/or for change.

Let's hope the for the latter.
